YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

• You will lead a distributed team of engineers on a mission of constant development, enabling them to meet our organizational delivery goals as well as personal goals
• You evangelize modern engineering practices and empower engineers to make technical decisions: Engineering Manager = Tech Lead
• You understand that it is all about execution and delivery of value, even when roadmaps and priorities change often.
• With your product mindset you collaborate closely with our product owners to shape our product vision while balancing time to market and technical debt
• You champion autonomous teams, guiding them through decision-making processes and adeptly coach, mentor and inspire them to elevate their abilities

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

• Background You successfully completed a university degree in Computer Science or similar and have a strong technical background that you have applied numerous times in different complex (backend heavy) projects. You have worked with AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP
• Leadership You have built and managed software engineering teams and you have worked with distributed teams
• Approach You have strong communication skills and are able to adapt your language to the audience – more technical when speaking with engineers, more functional when speaking with stakeholders
• Development You love supporting other people’s development and at the same time you manage to keep yourself up to date with the latest engineering trends
• Methods You are knowledgeable about agile methodologies and their application in dynamic environments
